The Sterling Rams are an adventuring band based in the town of Yana in the Grey Valley. The group is led by Sir Tred Stoneheart, who took over leadership after his mentor Sir Oloric Silveraxe, was slain during the Battle of Yana. They are the protagonists of the Grey Frontier campaign.

Name
The name Sterling Rams was chosen by Tred during the group's first encounter with the Crakehall Hunters, selected as the word "Sterling" meant both "Excellent" and "Silver" (In reference to Oloric Silveraxe) and "Rams" could signify Brumbuck, Oloric's goat steed.
